Foreword

Normally,dispersity and good strength are two contradictory performances of body binder,the strength will be relatively week when the dispersity provided is good,when it provides good strength,the corresponding slurry flow speed or dispersity maybe not good enough.Body binders in the market commonly have disadvantages like:high viscosity,high thixotropy,influence slurry discharge,easily get rotten,influence body whiteness or even cause sandwich or black core.Therefore,ceramic industry constantly searching for a new high cost performance body binder that could have both good strength increase effect and good dispersity.After years’ research,we successfully developed new dispersible body binder,which could contribute to the ceramic industry on saving production cost,this product is specially suitable for high requirement of body binder in production of big size tile and sintered stone.

Advantages:

1.Easily soluble in water,and no viscosity of the solution.Meanwhile it has strong dispersity that could quicken the slurry flow,less water reducer or water is needed compares with other body binder ,save energy consumption of spray drier.

2.Not easy to get corroded after long time application,and will not lessen or lose effect after 24hours’ application like lignin or cellulose.

3.Could obviously increase body strength,and won’t cause sandwich or black heart body like lignin or cellulose.It is environmental friendly product,no smell or dust,good for health of operators. 

4.Could improve and lower thixotropic property of body slip,easy for slurry discharge and production control.

5.Could replace clay,lower clay proportion and save material cost.Every adding of 0.1% could replace about 3% clay,and the body strength has great promotion before and after drying.

6.Could promote whiteness by about 3 degrees after replacement of clay,save use of zirconium silicate,also could improve colouration of full body tile,save amount of pigment.

7.Due to reduction of clay,ignition of plastic clay will be lower,help to achieve fast firing in low temperature, increase kiln efficiency and save fuel.Moreover,as water content in clay is more difficult to evaporate,the reduction of clay could also help to reduce defects like pinhole.

8.After formula proportion adjustment by reducing clay,factory could save about 20% energy consumption on grinding,reduce 8% water content of slurry and 10% cost on powder making.

9. Increase use efficiency of press machine,prolong its working life.

III. Application method:

1.General percentage of the body binder is 0.1~0.3%,actual proportion also depends on proportion of plastic material in formula and performance of press machine.

2.It is suggested to do series contrast tests of flow speed with water reducer when test performance of the dispersible body binder,so as to find out the most suitable proportion of both body binder and water reducer.

IV.Storage method and instruction: Keep sealed ,store in dry and cool place.

The performance of body binder should be judged not only by testing its viscosity or flow speed of solution but also testing the strength of application in small body samples after drying.
